53% of Americans, (up from 49% in April), say their financial situation is now excellent or good.

The rest of the Gallup survey was composed of 33% who describe their finances as being “only fair” and 14% who reported their situation as “poor.”

Although unemployment rates remain at record highs of any time since the Great Depression, millions of Americans have been able to return to work in the past two months.  The increased ratings on personal finances in this report may reflect the return of many to work.
