Texas Rangers fans are celebrating a baseball milestone.
For the first time in franchise history, the Rangers became the World Series champions. They clinched the title after beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-0 on Wednesday in Game 5 of their series.
The first-time World Series win is a big deal for Rangers players and their fanbase, but it is a bigger deal than you might think. According to a report on ESPN, since the Rangers started playing in Arlington they have gone 51 seasons without winning the title. That marks the longest World Series drought for any American League team.
And another interesting fact about the Rangers – they are the only MLB to not hold a Pride Night this season.
