Israeli forces saw a major victory yesterday by killing the Hamas operative they say directed part of the Oct. 7 terror attack which resulted in 1,400 deaths and the taking of more than 200 hostages.

Israel Defense Forces announced that they had killed Nasim Abu Ajina in an airstrike on a refugee camp where he and other Hamas operatives were hiding. Over the last few days, Israel has been warning Palestinians to leave the camp, but many reportedly chose to stay.

Hamas claims 50 people were killed in the strike, but it’s unknown if that number is accurate at this time.

The strike comes as Israel continues its ground invasion in northern Gaza, which has already proven deadly for Israeli forces. The IDF reported 10 deaths yesterday, bringing their total casualties inside Gaza to 12.

As the war rages on, Egypt is finally accepting refugees. An Egyptian source says several hundred Gazans passed the Rafah border crossing today thanks to a deal mediated by Qatar. Egypt reportedly has plans to accept around 7,500 refugees over the next two weeks.
