The choices of who to pick as the Republican Presidential candidate continue to thin. On Saturday afternoon, former Vice President Mike Pence became the latest Republican to pull out of the race.

Pence reaffirmed to voters that, although he has left the 2024 race, he is not abandoning “the fight for conservative values.”

On X, formerly Twitter, Pence borrowed from the Word as he conceded he was not the man for the moment.

“‘There is a time for every purpose under Heaven,'” Pence wrote. “After traveling the country the past six months, it has become clear…this is not my time. “As we leave this campaign, we do so with grateful hearts. I will always be grateful for the opportunities my family and I have been given to serve this country.”

Pense is the first major Republican candidate to drop out of the race, being a household name from the get-go and having attended both Republican-hosted debates. Other candidates that have dropped out include Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, businessman Perry Johnson, and conservative radio host Larry Elder.

Former President Donald Trump commented on Pence’s suspended campaign during an event in Las Vegas, saying his former VP “should” endorse Trump in his 2024 run.
