Christian and Jewish leaders are calling on President Joe Biden not to pressure Israel into a premature ceasefire with Hamas.

Wednesday, as Biden visited Israel, 50 Israeli and American religious leaders penned a letter that was published by the Jerusalem Post.

While the leaders expressed gratitude for the president’s commitment to Israel, they urged him to “call for the immediate and unconditional release of 199 hostages” taken by Hamas, while asking him not to pressure Israel into an untimely ceasefire with the terrorist group.

“Israel must do all that is necessary to eliminate Hamas,” the leaders wrote.

Those who signed the petition included Pastor Greg Laurie, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, former Rep. Michele Bachmann, and former President Donald Trump’s spiritual advisor Paula White.
