Sleepy Hollow Farm in Vermont has become overrun by influencers trying to get that perfect fall photoshoot. But it is a private residence surrounded by neighbors.
Influencers are profiting from sponsorships and the picturesque photo-op, but residents say it’s at a cost to homeowners. They say the pursuit of the perfect fall photo has damaged roads, fields, and gardens. It’s also made the roads nearly unusable for residents in the area.
Now, the town of 900 has voted to kick out the tourists by closing down two roads to all non-residents until Oct. 15.
The cost to residents to enforce the ban – inclusive of additional law enforcement and new signage – is expected to cost over $25,000, but the town’s inhabitants have started a GoFundMe to raise the money.
