The government is now literally counting the cost of the string of natural disasters plaguing the nation since January.

In this year alone, the US has experienced 23 weather disasters, all with individual costs exceeding $1 billion. That’s the highest amount of natural disasters the nation has ever seen in one year. And that’s with four more months in 2023 remaining.

Overall, these disasters have cost Americans almost $58 billion and have killed 253 people. This record includes the Maui wildfires, Hurricane Idalia, the California flooding from early this year, the winter storm that hit the Northeast, tornadoes and hailstorms across the Midwest, the deadly heatwave stretching across the south, and more.

President Joe Biden and left-wing activists continue to cry “climate change,” but Americans are more concerned about recovery.

This comes as FEMA announced last month that its disaster relief funds were running low ahead of hurricane season. But Biden promised aid no matter what.
