A new Breitbart exclusive revealed that Border Patrol apprehended nearly 40,000 migrants in the first 10 days of August alone.

Texas accounted for over half of these apprehensions, while the Tucson and Rio Grande Valley sectors both reported over 10,000 apprehensions apiece. This comes as border crossings dropped sharply in June, but then spiked again in July.

South Texas is seeing major arrests as state law enforcement just captured two heavily armed Mexican cartel members.

A DPS spokesman said the state is becoming a “very hot area” for cartel members hiding from the Mexican military, which is targeting cartels.
