The American Library Association, or ALA, is seeing some major backlash, and this time it’s not about the books the woke association backs, but the leader placing them there.

The ALA’s recently instated president, Emily Drabinski, self identifies as a “Marxist lesbian” who “believes that collective power is possible to build a better world.” Drabinski immediately received backlash for these self-identifiers, but she took to NBC News to double-down on her beliefs.

But those beliefs are yielding consequences for the organization at large. The Montana State Library Commission became the first state to leave the ALA, citing Drabinski’s Marxist beliefs.

Other states, including Arizona, Idaho, Illinois, Georgia, and more, are also leading calls to separate from the ALA over its overt political agenda.
