Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has agreed to debate California Gov. Gavin Newsom with Fox News Host Sean Hannity serving as moderator.

The news comes as Newsom and Desantis have criticized each other’s state on social media and to the press. Newsom accepted Hannity’s debate invitation in June. Last September, he challenged DeSantis on Twitter.

Supporters hope it will raise DeSantis’ profile in the GOP primary, where Donald Trump maintains a strong, double-digit lead. A Newsom spokesperson said the event will take place in November.
