After months of tanking sales, Bud Light is now laying off hundreds of employees.
Parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev made the announcement Wednesday. The cuts affect less than 2% of the company’s 18,000- person U.S. workforce. Specifically, the company restructured to eliminate most corporate and marketing roles in U.S. offices.
Company Chief Executive Brendan Whitworth said leadership wants “to ensure that our organization continues to be set for future long-term success.”
Bud Light sparked a customer boycott when they hired transgender Dylan Mulvaney as a brand ambassador back in April.
Since then, sales data shows the company has experienced up to 28- percent declines when compared to 2022. The company will give its latest quarterly financial results next week.
