A new Barna poll shows what people of no faith are looking for when it comes to talking about faith with believers.

Barna posed the question: “imagine a Christian you would be interested in learning from. Which of the following characteristics would you use to describe them?” Almost 40% of respondents said listening without judgment was their first choice. “Honesty about their doubts” followed second and “not forcing a conclusion” was a close third.

The poll also asked about actual experiences of spiritual conversations. People of no faith were split evenly. They felt just as much “cared for” as they did “imposed upon.” Twenty-three percent said they walked away wanting to know more about Jesus, while sadly 43% said they did not.
