Both political parties are at odds over the significance of testimony from IRS agents.
House Oversight Republicans believe Hunter Biden is proof of a two-tiered justice system.
But ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) called it a case of traditional “tug-of-war” between investigators and prosecutors.
Congressman Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.), another Democrat, agreed that prosecutors don’t pursue charges that are hard to win in court. He later said the whistleblowers also didn’t provide evidence of President Biden’s guilt.
But Republicans are praising Goldman for inadvertently making their case.
President Biden denies any knowledge of his son’s business dealings.
Meanwhile, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) believes the IRS agents prove that President Joe Biden was involved in a criminal bribery scheme. Comer also says the whistleblowers “are willing to hand over Biden family bank records in foreign countries.”
