In what could be the textbook definition of too little too late, the Biden administration has finally stopped funding the Chinese Wuhan Institute of Virology. This comes over concerns about the institute’s failure to provide adequate documentation about their practices.
A memo obtained by Bloomberg News revealed that the Wuhan lab does not adequately follow federal regulations. The lab also failed to inform American officials on their security and safety measures.
A Department of Health and Human Services spokesperson said, “this action will ensure the Wuhan Institute of Virology does not receive another dollar of federal funding.”
The U.S. government has given almost $1.5 million in grants to the lab since 2014.
This also follows recent reports which revealed that the “ground zero” Covid-19 patient was a scientist at the Wuhan lab.
