On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to censure California Rep. Adam Schiff for misleading the House during the now disproven investigation of collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia.

Schiff is now the 26th member in the history of the House of Representatives to be censured by the body. The resolution was brought forward earlier this month by Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna.

The first attempt to censure Schiff was tabled over a measure that recommended a $16 million fine. After the recommendation was removed, several house members switched their vote.

Representative Luna said this bill is an affirmation of who Schiff really is, while Schiff claims the censure is more like a “badge of honor” to him.

The censure resolution also requires the House Ethics Committee to investigate alleged “falsehoods, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information” made by Schiff.
