Following a year of chaos in 68 and 69 A.D., the Roman Empire went through its own sort of civil war. Though it was far more brief than other comparable conflicts, it was landscape-shaking in the power struggle for Rome. The man to rise from the ashes of battle and bring stability came from relatively humble origins to establish the second dynasty in the Empire’s history: the Flavian Dynasty. This man is Emperor Vespasian, who ruled from 69-79 A.D.
