Saturday, President Joe Biden held his first re-election campaign rally in Philadelphia.
Biden made an appeal to working class voters while speaking before a group of AFL-CIO union workers. The rally came a day after Biden was endorsed by that union, which is the largest U.S. federation of unions.
Biden told the crowd that they have “carried the country on their backs…long enough” and said it was time for “big corporations … pay their fair share.”
Despite the union support, a new CBS News poll shows 42% of Democrats believe Biden should not seek a second term, along with 75% of Independents.
Forty-five percent of those Democrats fear Biden wouldn’t be able to finish a second term.
