Sadly, it seems like Christian persecution is growing in India.
According to Breitbart, members of a prominent Hindu tribe killed at least nine believers and burned down several Christian homes in Northern India on Wednesday.
Conflict between Hindus and Christians isn’t new in the country, but this week’s violent attack on believers was an emboldened response to a federal government ruling that granted special privileges to the Hindu Meiti tribe. India’s Hindu nationalist government ignored the violence.
The news comes as President Joe Biden is seeking to strengthen diplomatic ties with the country at an upcoming White House State dinner. Human rights protests are expected over Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s visit next week.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration has stayed silent on Christian persecution in the country.
