A shocking new amendment to a California child custody bill is raising concern for parents across the country.

Under the original bill, courts were required to consider if parents “affirmed” their child’s gender identity in custody cases. But an amendment was added by Democrat Assembly Member Lori Wilson making parents guilty of child abuse if they don’t go along with their kids’ trans identity.

The amendment “would include a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child.”

Should it pass, parents could have their kids taken away under California’s Family Code. Founder of the law firm “Facts Law Truth Justice” Nicole Pearson, called the bill “horrifying” in an interview with the Daily Signal and warned that Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is believed to be gunning for president in 2028, .is laying the groundwork for a nationwide application of the law.

“If he signs this bill into law it will be headed to every state if he wins,” Pearson said.

The state senate will hold a hearing on the matter Tuesday afternoon.
