Three years later, we’re still seeing the negative effects of closing schools during Covid.

New documents reveal that prominent teachers’ union presidents colluded with the CDC in order to keep schools closed.

The Fairfax Parents Association obtained emails and texts between the leaders, and they were shocked at what they found.
In February of 2021, the CDC was set to release a guidance for reopening schools that said “all schools can provide in-person instruction.” But that language changed after teachers’ union President Randi Weingarten texted the CDC director saying she didn’t like the “full speed ahead angle.”

The official statement then was changed to, “all schools have the option to provide in-person instruction.” This led to many schools staying closed.

Weingarten, in a testimony before Congress, had attempted to rewrite history by saying she pushed for schools to reopen.

Meanwhile, the Daily Wire reports that schools that remained closed had similar numbers of Covid cases as schools that didn’t shut down.
