A federal judge sided with gun rights advocates against a Biden Administration rule targeting
pistol braces.
The rule requires gun owners to register braces with the ATF. If they don’t they must remove the brace or destroy the gun. Violators could face up to 10 years in prison and ten thousand dollars in fines.
But a Texas Judge temporarily blocked that rule for millions of gun owners just hours before the deadline. The State of Texas led the lawsuit along with two pro gun groups -Gun Owners of America and the Gun Owners Foundation.
And while they didn’t get the nationwide injunction they wanted, the judge did rule that state employees and members of those pro gun groups would be shielded from the law.
The block will stay in place until a separate case challenging the rule is resolved.
