In the year 68 A.D. Rome was on the verge of destruction. The Julio-Claudian dynasty was crumbling under the chaotic reign and eventual suicide of Emperor Nero. Historians almost forget that there were several emperors between Nero and the Emperor Vespasian. For less than a year, in one of the shortest reigns in the Empire’s history, Rome was ruled by Emperor Galba.
