A California community can rest easy after the successful capture of a serial stabber.
Police booked 21-year-old Carlos Reales Dominguez on two charges of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The manhunt began one week ago after the death of a 50-year-old homeless man well-known by the community.
A college student tragically became a second victim days before graduation. Dominguez’s third victim, a homeless woman, survived his attack on Monday.
An emotional police chief and mayor took the stage to make the announcement yesterday.
Public tips led police to Dominguez, who had a double-edged knife on his person when first detained.
The young man was recently separated from UC Davis for academic reasons. But he has a history of pursuing medical internships to help save lives. His motives for the attacks are still unknown.
