A woman facing an unplanned pregnancy has credited a pro-life film with saving her baby’s life amid mounting pressure from others to abort her baby boy.

Choice42, the Canadian pro-life organization behind the film, said that the young woman reached out to thank them after she watched “The Procedure,” which tells the real-life story of an ultrasound technician who quit his job after witnessing the gruesome reality of abortion.

“Last week, a woman messaged us on social media after viewing our short film, THE PROCEDURE,” the pro-life organization shared, per a Life News report. “She said that she is pregnant and in her second trimester, and that everyone in her life is pressuring her to abort.”

Choice42, whose name represents a truncated version of “choice for two,” said that the woman shared that she made “a firm decision to let her baby live” after seeing the film.

“She said that before she watched, she had no idea what a second trimester abortion was like, and that now that she knows, she cannot do that to her child,” Choice42 shared in a tweet

“The Procedure” is a four-minute animated film that relays the true story of a hospital sonographer who had been summoned to assist with a surgery, not realizing that it was a second-trimester abortion procedure. The man described the horror and revulsion he felt upon witnessing the infant struggle for her life while the abortionist “pulls her apart limb by limb and removes her body in pieces from the womb.” The dismemberment abortion, also referred to as a “dilation and evacuation” procedure, or D&E, is common in late-term abortions. The film is narrated by actor Kevin Sorbo, a rare pro-life voice in Hollywood.

A ‘WAKEUP CALL’

Choice42 director Laura Klassen told The Interim, a Canadian pro-life publication, that she wanted to create “The Procedure” to expose the tragic reality of abortion and serve as a “wakeup call” about what it “actually does to babies.”

“Our culture promotes the lie that abortion is ‘a woman’s choice,’ or ‘reproductive rights,’ or ‘healthcare,’ when really, it’s a horrific act of violence against the most vulnerable: the preborn,” Klassen continued, adding that second-trimester abortions occur “every day in our country.”

The film is the first installment of Choice42’s new series “Exposed” aimed at challenging misconceptions and false information about the reality of abortion.

LATE TERM ABORTIONS

Canada allows taxpayer-funded abortions for any reason up to birth. Multiple U.S. states still allow second-trimester abortions despite an expansive body of scientific evidence showing that infants feel pain and resist abortion — discoveries that defy the leftist narrative that unborn children are merely clumps of cells to be disposed of if their existence presents a nuisance or potential burden.

A 2020 study titled “Reconsidering fetal pain” published in the Journal of Medical Ethics found that infants in utero can experience pain as early as 12 weeks after gestation. The study was conducted by two medical researchers: one pro-life, the other pro-abortion. An unborn child’s pain receptors begin to form at seven weeks.

The former sonographer who inspired “The Procedure” recently told Choice42 that, although two decades have passed since he became an unwitting participant in an abortion, he is still haunted by memories of witnessing the violent killing of the helpless baby girl whose tiny body was so callously and brutally discarded.

More than 102,000 people have watched “The Procedure” on YouTube since its October release. A Spanish language version is also available.

Choice42 said that its goal is to educate the public on the truth about abortion and “encourage people to boldly speak out about the human rights violation of our time.”
