As the border crisis continues to grow, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas once again blamed Congress.

The secretary says the entire hemisphere is undergoing unprecedented migration not seen since the end of World War 2. He then blamed Congress for not creating laws to better protect the U.S.

Mayorkas said the Biden administration has done what they can with a broken immigration system. But President Biden’s catch-and-release parole policy has only accelerated a 2 million backlog of immigration cases.

Meanwhile, Representative Tony Gonzales said the crisis now extends to cities a hundred miles from the border.

The DHS expects up to ten-thousand people to cross the border per day after Title 42 expires on May 11. The congressman says border patrol agents have no plan to counter this anticipated surge.

Meanwhile, a recent Trafalgar Group poll shows that nearly 9 out of 10 Americans believe the federal government is responsible for the crisis. But in their silence, three-quarters of poll respondents now believe states have the right to take action to protect their citizens.
