After years of legal disputes a church in Indonesia is open for worship once again.

The Yasmin Church in the city of Bogor opened its doors for the first time on Easter Sunday. Since 2010 The church has been embroiled in an ongoing battle with the local government over its building permit. Even after the Indonesian Supreme Court green lit the permit, the city of Bogor still wouldn’t let the church open. The city was facing pressure from its majority muslim community.

At the opening ceremony Mayor Bima Arya said he regretted the conflict lasted so long. And while this is great news for the Yasmin Church, International Christian Concern says the struggle over permits is part of a growing trend for Indonesian churches.
