If you’re a sports fan, you may have noticed in the last few years an uptick of virtue signaling and wokism in sports. But, at least in hockey, fans may be getting a welcome reprieve.
Yesterday, NHL commissioner Gary Betterman said the league is going to seriously evaluate” the continuation of league-wide “pride nights,” in the wake of many players refusing to wear pride-themed jerseys, for a variety of reasons.
The commissioner said earlier this week, “I think it’s something that we’re going to have to evaluate in the offseason.”
Betterman went on to say that the pride nights have become more of a distraction and that the personal decision of the players needs to be respected.
