Music students at the University of South Carolina are attempting to connect mothers at the Camille Graham Correctional Institution with their babies through the power of music.

The state government has even caught on to how impactful this project has become. Bryan Stirling, the Director of the South Carolina Department of Corrections, thanked USC for their help.

Students and USC teachers have lauded the program for helping to build bridges in these families. One inmate interviewed by Good News Network even said that just knowing her child will hear something she wrote is “an amazing feeling.”
