Republicans are calling foul play after the IRS visited a witness while he was testifying on potential government abuse of power.
Matt Taibbi is a lead journalist on the Twitter File reports. He voluntarily testified before the House Weaponization subcommittee on March 9.
During his visit he testified to documents he saw that proved collusion between the federal government and Twitter. He’s now telling the subcommittee that the IRS visited his New Jersey home that same day.
He was also told that his 2018 and 2021 tax returns were rejected because of identity theft concerns.
Shortly before this visit, the Federal Trade Commission demanded that Twitter reveal all journalists who accessed the Twitter files.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan is demanding answers from Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel.
