The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is making headlines once again for its outright disdain for life in the womb by recently launching a course on at-home abortion pill use.
An article published Tuesday by Live Action, a Catholic anti-abortion non-profit, highlights the promotion of “medication abortion even where it is illegal.”
The website, reported to be run by “anonymous, dedicated individuals,” is affiliated with a U.S. non-profit which is unnamed, and “demonstrates the owners’ disregard for national law,” as it encourages women who are pregnant to order abortion pills regardless of the legal, physical, or mental ramifications.
Live Action goes on to emphasize that the site “not only keeps its ownership secret, it encourages potentially dangerous and illegal drug activity, and claims credibility from the World Health Organization, citing the WHO’s extreme abortion guidance.”
The abortion industry has been successful in the use of altered language to promote abortion while simultaneously sidestepping the details and process of what actually occurs. As with many propagandized movements or ideologies, euphemisms have been leveraged in an attempt to diminish the horror associated with the procedure.
This practice is exemplary within the present-day transgender movement in which language such as “gender-affirming care” is an umbrella term used to describe genital mutilation, breast tissue removal, and irreversible hormone treatments.
Author’s Biblical Analysis
The Biblical references of God’s esteem for life are illustrated in a myriad of verses, but perhaps the simplest and most direct of these references is in the book of Exodus. As part of the ten commandments given to Moses by God Himself, Exodus 20:13 reads, “You shall not murder.”
This verse coupled with the abundance of verses that reference humanity made in God’s image can stand alone as grounds for the value of life at all stages.
Though this clear line in the sand is drawn in the early history of this Earth, modern society seemingly has a hard time differentiating when life begins. In the all too familiar argument that a child inside the womb is not yet a human, or has not yet been deemed a life or viable, which translates to valuable, scripture dissolves this dispute through the book of Psalms.
In Psalms 139:13-14 David writes,
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
This scripture dispels the argument that life inside the womb is less of a life. According to our loving, compassionate, and just God, all life is precious and has value.
The book of Psalms further expounds upon the heart of God for all men, by calling children a reward.
Psalms 127:3 states, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
The slow deterioration of the fabric of our society, beginning with the removal of Christ in our school systems, has produced a total disregard for human life and a desensitization to the horrors of evil that occur within this world.
Hope lies solely in Christ, our healer, redeemer, and friend.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
