This may not come as a surprise, but pet adoptions went through the roof during the COVID-19 pandemic as we were all forced to remain home and isolate from our friends, families and loved ones. However, a strange and sad new trend has emerged as we exit the pandemic: a sharp increase in pets being returned to shelters.
