Last week, Joe Rogan, host of the wildly popular radio podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” used his platform to defend actor and professing Christian Chris Pratt, a man who many have verbally attacked for his Christian beliefs.

Rogan, who himself does not appear to be a Christian, was responding to complaints that many fans and even fellow celebrities have about Pratt. One of these celebrities to have bashed Pratt was Elliot Page, the transgender actress who formerly went by “Ellen” and now identifies as a man. In 2019, Page bashed Pratt’s church, calling it “infamously anti-LGBTQ.”

On his Tuesday show, Rogan came to Pratt’s defense. He said,

Chris Pratt gets in trouble because he’s Christian. (He’s) the nicest guy I’ve ever met in my life…He’s done nothing. He’s so nice. He’s kind of outside of the lines in terms of his ideology. He’s a Christian and pretty open about it. Because of that, they attack him. It’s something so simple. Like, he just believes in Jesus, and he likes to be a good person.

Rogan’s words highlight the struggle that many Christian celebrities face as they work in an environment that is extremely secular and very hostile towards traditional religious values in general and Christianity in particular.
