In sports, week 13 of the NFL season commenced on Monday night with a divisional matchup between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills, while the NBA continued to extend its extreme vaccine crackdown.
The Bills and Patriots met on Monday night in a game with significant playoff implications, with the winner taking sole possession of first place in the AFC East and and setting themselves up for a shot at the conference’s top seed. The Patriots outlasted their division rivals 14-10 in a game where quarterback Mack Jones threw only three passes, completing two of them.
During New England’s seventh straight win, a 14-10 victory in Buffalo, Patriots’ QB Mac Jones completed 2-of-3 passes for 19 yards.

The Patriots and their future Hall-of-Fame head coach Bill Belichick controlled the game with a dominant run attack and stingy defense. The team ran the ball 46 times for 222 yards.
New England improved to 9-4 on the year, while Buffalo dropped to 7-5 but still holds the final spot in the AFC wildcard.
Meanwhile in basketball, the NBA is continually adding to its already strict rules regarding the COVID-19 shot. The league announced Tuesday that unvaccinated players are prohibited from reentering the United States if they exit the country during the season. In effect on January 15 of this coming year, the rule will come into play for teams who travel to Toronto to play the Raptors. Players will either be barred from reentry into the nation after the game, or will be forced to miss the contest.
Furthermore, it is no secret that many NBA players are foreigners. This new rule robs foreign players who have not received the jab the opportunity to visit their families and homes overseas, or would otherwise force them to lose their job if they did choose to return home.
The league, however, claims this will be a non-issue, reporting that 97% of players have received the initial jab, with 60% having also received a COVID-19 booster.
