In the latest update of the kidnapped believers in Haiti, Christian Aid Ministries, the organization to which the missionaries belong, announced they will continue to work for the spread of the gospel in region. FISM News reported last week that two of the missionaries were released by the 400 Mawazo Gang, while fifteen believers are still held hostage.
The organization announced in an interview released on Sunday that they will continue their missionary work in the region, despite the persecution they have experienced:
Our staff have done well in continuing the work, despite the constant concern as we consider our loved ones who are still being held hostage…Since this crisis began, each workday morning there has been a staff singing and prayer time here at the office. These times have been a blessing. Our desire is to continue to lift the situation to God, depending on Him to carry us through. We desire that His great name be glorified. These are people that we know and deeply care about. Undoubtedly, for most of us, it is the first thing we think about when we wake up in the morning and the last thing we think about when we turn in for the night.
This is a dire crisis for these captive believers, as their lives have already been threatened by the leaders of the gang. Still, they continue to hold fast to the gospel.
FISM News will keep you updated on the plight of these believers. For now, the best thing we all can do is join Christian Aid Ministries and pray every day for their protection and for the salvation of their captors.
