In a highly anticipated meeting for Roman Catholics and conservatives, President Joe Biden and Pope Francis I met on Friday at the Vatican to discuss numerous social issues.
To the dismay of many conservative Catholics, Francis affirmed that the President is a “good Catholic” and encouraged him to keep receiving the elements of the Lord’s Supper within the Roman Church. Many Catholics believe that Biden has rejected true Catholicism with his policies that overwhelmingly support the spread of abortion in America, and also affirm the sexual revolution.
Biden said,
We just talked about the fact that he was happy that I was a good Catholic and (to) keep receiving Communion.
According to reports from the Vatican, the president and the pope met for roughly 90 minutes, which hit a new record for the longest meeting between a U.S. President and the Bishop of Rome. Many Catholics and evangelicals are enraged at the fact that in their lengthy meeting, they did not once talk about the issue of abortion.
The specifics of the meeting’s content was kept private, but previous reports claim that president’s intent with the pope was to discuss climate change and COVID-19. FISM News will monitor the specifics of the meeting between the pontiff and the president as they are revealed.
