Former New York City police officer and Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino will fill the midday radio time slot previously held by the legendary conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who passed away last month after a year-long battle with cancer.  “The Dan Bongino Show” will air weekdays from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on the nationwide radio station Westwood One, with markets in several major U.S. cities including New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

Bongino, a regular guest on Fox News and host of his own political podcast, is an ideal candidate to continue Limbaugh’s legacy of brash conservative talk radio.  According to a press release this past week, the 3-hour radio program will “tackle hot political issues” and give Bongino the opportunity to “provide commentary and analysis that directly questions the philosophical underpinnings of both the Left and Big Government Republicans.”  After Limbaugh’s death, Bongino spoke fondly of his predecessor, saying,

Every conservative I know, everyone has had that Rush Limbaugh moment where they were listening and heard an idea for the first time ever.

Bongino is currently battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, after receiving a positive diagnosis in September.  Despite his current health crisis, he is set to host the first ever installment of “The Dan Bongino Show” on May 24.
