Saturday afternoon, a shooter opened fire at a firing range killing two people and injuring two others. Local reports say the shooting began when the gunman entered the store with a loaded gun. An argument ensued with the clerk when he was told his gun couldn’t be loaded outside the range.
According to police, after the gunman opened fire he was then “shot outside the location by multiple other individuals.” Police say it may have been customers, employees, or individuals around the location who stopped the shooter.
The shooting occurred at the Jefferson Gun Outlet in Metairie Louisiana, just a few miles from New Orleans.

This tragic event came less than a week after Joe Biden called on Congress to enact new gun control laws, which White House Press Secretary Jenn Psaki suggested may be enacted in some form through executive orders.
Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.
However it’s highly unlikely the gun laws that Biden is pushing would have prevented the shooting at the range in Metairie.
