Thankfully, the Capitol Police is reporting the evacuation was performed out of “an abundance of caution” due to a nearby fire. “There are currently no fires on or within the Capitol campus,” the police said. “Members and staff were advised to shelter in place while the incident is being investigated.”
According to the Secrete Service the fire has been put out and is of “no threat to the public.”
