As tensions continue to rise in the Middle East, the Pentagon is taking new steps to ensure the safety of American forces by sending 300 additional troops to the region. Press Secretary Pat Ryder made the announcement.
The Pentagon is currently tracking 27 attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria that have resulted in dozens of injuries. Six of those attacks followed U.S. retaliatory strikes against Iranian proxies in Syria.
Ryder says the U.S. will take all necessary actions to protect those forces and deter future attacks.
