Iranian-backed militant groups have attacked U.S. bases in Iraq in a succession of drone attacks.

These groups have previously threatened to attack U.S. facilities over American support for Israel. Now, U.S. Central Command says they’ve defended against three drone attacks between Tuesday and Wednesday. Those drones targeted two different bases.

U.S. forces intercepted all three drones but did not fully destroy one of them. CentCom reported some minor injuries and says they are “vigilantly monitoring the situation.”

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which is really an umbrella group of Iranian-backed militias, claimed responsibility. They pledged more operations against the “American occupation.”
