In news from one of the legal battles facing former President Donald Trump, his ex-personal lawyer Michael Cohen has testified in the New York-based fraud proceeding.
Cohen claims he reverse-engineered Trump’s assets until he achieved the former president’s desired numbers. But Trump says the lawyer’s testimony can’t be trusted after Cohen’s 2018 convictions for tax evasion and making false statements.
Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows was just granted immunity in exchange for testifying. He’s now expected to be a key witness for Special Counsel Jack Smith. Meadows claims that he repeatedly told the former president that election fraud claims were baseless.
