Texas is now seeing a new milestone in the border crisis as the Lone Star State has now bused more than 50,000 illegal immigrants to cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott began the busing program in April 2022, saying he was sending the migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities to provide much-needed relief to overrun Texas border towns.

“Until President Biden upholds his constitutional duty to secure America’s southern border, Texas will continue to deploy as many buses as needed to relieve the strain caused by the surge of illegal crossings,” Abbott said.

Abbott also took to X to give an update on the border wall construction, saying, “More new border wall continues going up around the clock.”

Tuesday night, he shared a video in a separate X post of border wall construction in Maverick County.

“We won’t sit idly by while Biden allows this historic border crisis to escalate,” Abbott wrote.

KTRH News reports that since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the state has apprehended just under half a million migrants, arrested more than 34,000 criminals, and seized over 431 million lethal doses of fentanyl.
