It looks like House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is prepared to ramp up the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

The newly elected speaker is accusing the president of taking part in an “ongoing cover-up,” saying Biden lied about his relationship with his son Hunter’s business dealings. Johnson made those comments to Fox News on Friday, where he also warned against using impeachment as a “political tool.”

But that doesn’t mean Johnson isn’t taking aggressive steps with the investigation. When asked if Republicans have plans to subpoena Hunter Biden, he indicated he would be on board to do so.

Johnson doesn’t have a specific timeline for the investigation but says he expects the House will bring the inquiry to an end soon.
