House Republicans are pushing ahead with an aid package for Israel. Their proposal would send $14.3 billion to our ally in the Middle East by cutting funding to the IRS.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said he hopes the plan will receive broad bipartisan support, but recognizes it might be controversial with Senate Democrats.

The plan is already receiving pushback from the left, with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre calling it a ‘nonstarter.”
