South Dakota Republicans are asking if their governor might become Donald Trump’s choice for VP after the two jointly appeared at a fundraiser this weekend.

Gov. Kristi Noem gave the former president her full endorsement at the event. The state’s first female governor, Noem once said she would be shocked if Trump wanted her as a vice president. But he’s since stated that he’s interested in a woman for the role.

It was Trump’s first appearance in the staunchly pro-life state since 2000. He warned the crowd of a cost to the end of Roe v. Wade.

The former president previously blamed ‘no exceptions’ pro-life Republicans for losing mid-term elections. He said at the rally that he supports three exceptions to abortion restrictions: rape, incest, and life endangerment.

Notably, South Dakota is a state that banned all abortion, except when the life of the mother is at risk.
