Popular casino chain MGM Resorts announced Wednesday that it fell victim to a massive cyber-attack that wrought havoc on several locations across the United States.

A ransomware group called ALPHAV, also known as BlackCat, is taking credit for the hack. The group compromised MGM software by using LinkedIn to find an employee’s information, then engaged in a 10-minute conversation with the Help Desk. This was all they needed to gain access to guest key cards, slot machines, and credit card transactions.

Caesars Entertainment was also hit by hackers recently. Bloomberg News reports that the casino giant paid millions of dollars in ransom for an August attack.
