Figures from both sides of the aisle are condemning New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s temporary suspension of gun rights in the city of Albuquerque.

Late Saturday, the Democratic governor banned open and concealed carry in the city for 30 days. The announcement came a day after she declared a public health emergency over gun violence in response to the shooting of an 11-year-old boy.

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis attacked Grisham’s actions as infringing on “Second Amendment rights by executive fiat.”

But it’s not just Republicans sounding off. Both California Democrat Congressman Ted Lieu and even gun control activist David Hogg decried the move as unconstitutional.

The National Association for Gun Rights is currently suing the governor.
