It’s not just the South anymore that’s feeling the burden of the border crisis, as northern states are starting to suffer their own ill effects.
For instance, Maine just received 1,600 immigrants who came across the US-Mexico border. The Washington Examiner reports that housing the immigrants will cost the state almost $2 million over the next two years.
Meanwhile, moving to the West Coast, Border Patrol agents in Washington state have seen a 575% increase in seizures of smuggling vehicles used to transport illegal immigrants across the US-Canada border.
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd explains that the same drug cartels operating along the southern border are seeing vulnerabilities and a potential for profit along the northern border.
