Angel Studios’ “Sound of Freedom” is still defying expectations a month after its release.

The anti-human trafficking thriller has drawn in nearly $150 million at the box office. The crowdfunded film is now outpacing mega blockbusters like “Mission Impossible” and “The Flash,” despite running in fewer theaters.

Shawn Robbins, Chief analyst at BoxOffice.com, said the film deserves a tremendous amount of credit for being “one of the most unexpected indie box office runs in years.”

The film is seeing major supporters, as former President Donald Trump hosted a private screening last month with several conservative politicians and activists in attendance.
