Firefighters are battling a massive blaze on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Dozens were killed Wednesday amid the “unprecedented” wildfires, which are being fanned by strong winds from Hurricane Dora.

Hawaii Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke says it will take years to rebuild.

The fire started on Tuesday and has already burned 11,000 acres. Over 270 buildings were destroyed, devastating the resort city of Lahaina.

Over 11,000 travelers were evacuated from Maui late Wednesday. President Joe Biden released a statement ordering ” all available Federal assets on the Islands to help with response.” The initial cause of the fire is still unknown.
